Louis Ryckmans

Louis’ area of expertise is corporate/commercial litigation, competition law and dispute resolution.

Louis was admitted to practice as a solicitor in both the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 1990.  Louis was also admitted to practice in the Courts of the State of New York and before the federal courts for both the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York in 1994.  Louis has had more than 16 years experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including trying numerous corporate and commercial cases in New York in both state and federal trial and appellate courts.  Louis’ experience includes representation of investment banks, airlines, foreign and domestic companies, insurance companies, individual investors and entrepreneurs.

Louis practised as a solicitor in Sydney (1990-1992) and subsequently as an attorney in New York (1994 to 2002).   Upon returning to Australia from New York in 2003, Louis worked at Blake Dawson Waldron and then at Abbott Tout.

Louis is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.  Louis earned his law degrees from the University of Sydney (LL.B.) and from Fordham University in New York (LL.M.), in International Business and Trade Law.
