Trade Practices

wisdomWe provide advice on a wide variety of matters in connection with trade practices and competition law.

Where an individual or business suffers economic injury through a deceptive or wrongful business practice, the Trade Practices Act, Fair Trading Act or the common law may provide a claim for relief.

The types of practices that generally give rise to trade practices litigation are practices that restrict dealings or affect competition (such as boycotts, resale price maintenance, predatory pricing and the practice of exclusive dealing), as well as practices that are misleading or deceptive, or are meant to confuse consumers as to the source of a product.  We represent clients with respect to all these issues.
